Empties #4

20 August 2015

Ahhha another empties post. I always say these are my favourite posts to read and write because only then do you really get to talk about you feel about a product. So I've stashed away another products that I've used up and I decided it was time to get talking about and throw them out!

La Roche-Posay Seronzinc - I absolutely love this stuff. I always heard bloggers and vloggers raving about it but never thought to buy it because it wasn't widely available in the UK. That was until I heard Escentual were shipping them in January this year. I finished that one up and then bought another from Feel Unique. It seems this is now readily available in the UK. I love this because it's a soothing and refreshing toner. It also says it's suppose to have a mattifying effect on the skin, that I cannot vouch for but I can say having used this for the almost 6 months, I really do feel it has helped to control my breakouts and soothe any breakouts I did have. When I stopped using this and started using another toner I really felt it in my skin. I'm currently using another spray toner at the moment but once I finish that it's back to this - such a bargain at £10 or less!
Would I repurchase? I think it's an obvious yes.

Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser - For some reason I always go back to this toner when I have run out of my other ones and have no money. I don't think this works great for blackheads, it certainly has never reduces them or gotten rid of them in the time that I've used it. It's generally not that great for your skin because it contains alcohol, the only reason I like this is because it's oil free. I used it frequently in my teens and I cannot be without a toner in my skin care routine. So even when I can't afford other toners I have to use something to tone my face and this fill in the gap.
Would I repurchase? When I can't afford anything else yes!

Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleaning Purifying Gel - I spoke about this product in my Skincare Shakeup post and I am still absolutely loving it. Since that post I have already repurchased it and today I ran out of it! This is such a great cleanser for oily skin, leaves your face feeling clean without stripping it. When I first started using this I was sceptical about using it as an everyday cleanser because I thought it would dry out my skin, I did then use it every day (morning and night) and I was fine. I now only use it in the evening as I find that it's at that point in the day that I want my deep clean. The gel contains Salicylic and Glycolic acid, so it's perfect for acne prone skin. It's also reasonably priced and lasts a good amount of time.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Good Things Manuka Honey Radiance Mask - This mask took me forever to get through, but that's only because I was super forgetful when it came to applying masks. I bought this on a whim because I was looking for a relatively cheap mask that would hydrate my skin. I'd heard about this brand in the past so I just picked this up. I didn't notice much of a change when I first started using this mask and I was super disappointed, but when I got into a routine with it I did start to notice that my skin was a little brighter and just not as dehydrated. Sadly I fell out of the routine of using it constantly. I think for the price I paid it's a good mask. It's also a clay mask which I love because it's supposed to help draw things out from your skin.
Would I repurchase? Maybe

Garnier Express 2 in 1 eye make-up remover - This product will basically show up in all my favourites because I'm always going through it. I just love it and I haven't even longed to try another eye make-up remover because this does the job for me. I'm just about to finish another bottle now and will need to pick one up before I go on holiday.
Would I repurchase? Yes yes yes

I love...strawberries & cream bath & shower creme - I picked this up whilst I was waiting to pay for some make-up bits in Superdrug. It was on offer for £1 and I simply cannot resist anything that's a £1! Although this smelled really nice, it really was anything special to me. I used it up so quickly because it didn't really foam up. It was okay on the skin, it wasn't drying but it wasn't super moisturising either. Just a meh product.
Would I repurchase? No

Naissance Almond Oil (Sweet) - I picked this up from eBay because after I get waxed my waxing lady puts almond oil in the areas that have been waxed to sooth it. I thought this would be great for when I did at home waxing on other parts of my body. I also used it for my hair, my scalp can get really really dry so this was great at soothing that. I don't get waxed anymore so after a while this just sat there until I used it up.
Would I repurchase? Maybe, I'd need to find a need for it though.

Dr Miracles Deep Conditioner - Ever since I decided to start taking care of my natural hair I've been invested in conditioners. I always used to skip this step before because I was tired and just didn't care about my hair. I'd heard a bit about Dr Miracle and whilst I was in the hair shop I saw it and decided to pick it up. It's one of those tingly conditioners, you can leave it on for like 5 minutes or like 30 minutes with heat. I have (well had, I've destroyed it now) a heated cap so I'd always put this in my hair and then put my heated cap on and go about my business. I cannot really say that this left my hair feeling the softest and that I noticed any real benefits from it, but that's because I don't know much about hair haha. I didn't see any immediate results, but it didn't cause any breakage or damage either. It didn't strip my hair either so it can't be terrible...
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

John Freida Frizz Ease Orginal 6 effects Serum - I always use to use the purple of this but it seem it is nowhere te found so I settled on this as a serum for my weave. Tbh I didn't think it did as great a job as the purple one. It was just meh, I really felt like it didn't do much and I would always use other products in its place.
Would I repurchase? No.

So that's it for my empties - I do have a couple more but this post is getting incredibly long and I wouldn't want your attention to fade. I've already started collecting the next bunch of empties so the process begins again...
