Amsterdam - Day 2

6 November 2017

Day 2 of my time in Amsterdam, I really wanted to combine day 2 and 3 but there are just so many pictures that I didn't feel okay with spamming my one post with them!
We were in Amsterdam when the red sun was all over England but it seemed it hit Amsterdam the next day and it was also super chilly. Whereas we were fortunate with the weather the day before, Tuesday was cold because there was so much wind - however that didn't stop us going out to explore.

So, after a few more pictures on the terrace, we headed out for brunch! The night before involved too many beers for my friend and I'm morning lounge about type of person, so we probably didn't leave the hotel until about 11. We took a lovely walk to Bakers & Roasters and had the best brunch ever, well one of the best, I've eaten way too many good brunches this year but this is up there! The one thing I loved is that they had creamy mushrooms - mmm! We had a wonderful waitress who told us that she'd gone back to Manchester after spending a while in Amsterdam and then came back to Amsterdam perm pretty much straight away because she loved it so much!

Bakers and Roasters - (kinda classic) eggs benny
Poached egg on toast with bacon and a hollandaise sauce.

Bakers & Roasters - Vege brekkie with a sausage
Scrambled eggs, toast, halloumi, potatoes, a sausage and mushrooms in a creamy sauce!

After devouring our breakfast and getting our energy back we wandered over to the Rijksmuseum but only to the free bit, neither of us are into art but we did stop to snap pictures of the building because it's absolutely beautiful! We drove past it the night before and it's even more stunning in the dark.

We stopped inside the free part to have a look and then walked around the area. We spotted another I amsterdam sign and walked through Museumplein, the parks surrounded by museums and also saw the fancy looking U.S. Consulate General building.

I love this picture, we were just walking down the street and came across this church but I love the read sun in the background.

We then headed a bit further out of Amsterdam as I had a chakra cleansing appointment. My friend had this done and before the holiday I'd been feeling all out of sorts, and looked up getting it done and really with the time I had left I could only get in done in Amsterdam so I decided to try it out. I found a healing place online and went over to get some healing done! I can't say it changed my life but look at the pictures we managed to get from her building - the view was SO lovely!

We headed back to our hotel to rest after that and to get ready for dinner, we chose Indonesian Kitchen and I would recommend this to everyone! It was such an intimate dinner and such a lovely experience. The restaurant is super tiny and feels really authentic, although I've never been to Indonesia so I have no idea if it is. The staff were so nice, I have never experienced service like it, they were super attentive and kind. When we walked in it was very full but then thinned out as we finished our dinner. If you visit Amsterdam please visit here to just experience the vibe - the food is delicious too and all proper Indonesian food! I had a friend from Indonesia message me on Instagram, when I posted what I thought was a spring roll, asking if it was an Indonesian meal called loempia and it was. It's similar to a spring roll but it's not, either way, super frikkin tasty.

After our lovely dinner we had a couple more drinks at Beer Temple and then came back to enjoy the view on the terrace and get an early night as the night before was quite late. My next post will be the last day in Amsterdam - sad times :(
