Spring picks

Ahh, the change of weather only makes me want to pick up my card and shop some more and for some reason, I've really been drawn to colour. I think this whole spring thing is making drawing me to light and fresh look, rather than my usual black attire. So I've been saving things here and there in the hopes that I can get my hands on them, however, March has been an expensive month so a girl can always dream...

Party season outfit ideas

15 November 2015

I have not blogged in forever! It's a combination of not having anything to blog about and not having the time to blog. My workplace has announced the date of the Christmas party and it has sent me into panic mode! First of all it makes me realise I need to stop inhaling all sorts of crap, but second reason for my panic is finding something to wear! So I’ve been doing some searching here and there but really most of these I have discovered because they’ve landed in my inbox from certain brands. I’m mainly looking for a dress because I find them easier to work with, but I have found some cute tops/bottoms.

What I’m going to wear to Cheltenham Races Ladies Day on 11th March

8 March 2015

I was contacted by EtailPR* to see if I wanted to take part in their Cheltenham Racecourse Ladies Day competition called #ColourMeMarch. It's not what I usually do but I thought it would be fun to take part in the challenge. I can't actually go to the races, as it takes place on Wednesday 11th March and I'll be working but I thought it would be fun to take part nonetheless!

I didn't have time to actually pull outfits from my wardrobe and try them on for you, but that made it even more fun for me because I got to go browsing on all the websites for bits, which is good because I don't actually own the one thing needed for the races...a fascinator! Growing up I always saw people wearing fascinators on TV for the races and thought what on earth are those, I was never sure if I liked them or not. And I certainly never thought I'd be choosing one myself, but I digress lets get on to the outfit!

Cheltenham Race

As you can tell from the hashtag it's all about colour, now I'm the type of person who wears black on a daily basis but I do love injecting a pop of colour in to my outfits. For me the races have always been about getting dressed up, some I feel for these things colour is totally appropriate. I felt this dress would be perfect for the occasion, granted it's a little bold but I think it would work nicely against my skin tone. Plus I just love most of the dresses from AX Paris - they do the nicest things!

I'd pair the dress with simple strappy black shoes and a black clutch bag. I'd of course have a black fascinator to top off my whole look! I chose a simple one because as interesting as the huge ones look, they are really not my thing.

What would you wear to the races? Enter the competition here:

daddy i’ve fallen for a monster.

I'm obviously sure that I am not the only one is who a little bit in love with Stooshe at the moment. I didn't actually take any notice of them when they first came in the scene. I'm always way too caught up in the music I have to be continually adding to that with new artists. That aside, I absolutely adore their song 'Black Heart'. I love the way it sounds and I love the lyrics. They sound so different and that's what I like, that soulful but old school vibe. I love their harmonies too, absolutely beautiful.

Anyway, what made me want to make a post about them is in relation to a post on Facebook, of them to a cover of Ed Sheeran's 'Drunk'. You can watch it here.

And don't you just love their name? I'm just assuming here that everyone knows what it means. Courtney is my favourite (short hair, pink). Then Alex and then Karis. But I love Karis' name.

I'm loving how they look too. It's refreshing and I'm very much into it. So here are some pictures for you to look over and see what I see.

So many colours and I love colours!

Bracelets

26 June 2012

For some reason I'm really into cuffs and bracelets in general now. I bought those blue ones, along with another blue one from Accessorize to go with my dress that I wore on the weekend for a wedding. However I changed my dress last minute and the jewellery would never go, so I returned it today. I ordered the KG cuff last week and should have it on wrist today when I get home (fingers crossed mother didn't sleep through the delivery again). I really should get that ASOS cuff but I have to stop shopping because I go on holiday on Thursday!! I also found out that Rokit is not too far from me (I work in Leicester Sqaure, there is one in Covent Garden) and so I walked in there and ended up purchasing a waistcoat for £16. I'll need to pin back some of it, apart from that it's perfect! But here we go - here are some pieces that I really like at the moment.
I also bought a bunch of dylon dye off Ebay, because I can't be bothered to go looking for it and I won't start my DIY until after my holiday, so it's perfect for me. I want to make a jumper I saw someone wearing yesterday and I definitely know it's been a dye operation and well I'm going to recreate it, so keep checking back for that because I promise it's going to be amazing!

I still have to do last minute shops for two bikini's and maybe high tops, but we'll see about that! I have a killer cough, so rushing around won't really help that!

I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday, I have a manic Wednesday coming up and then it's relaxation for 6 days :)
